ZTE assisted development of ONAP open source as platinum membership
Recently, ZTE discussed with partners about development of ONAP and assisted that as platinum membership in ONS 2017.
During submit, ONAP announced that the open source project was enabled officially. ONAP project is from OPEN-O & openECOMP open source project founded in 2016. The combination of the two projects was announced during 2017MWC, and the founded ONAP community devotes itself to open source reference implementation of Life-Cycle management platform of SDN/NFV network with core of cloud.
After the combination of the two communities, the number of platinum membership reaches 17, it is expected that more operators will join. The combination aggregates the power of open source field, providing excellent chance for cooperation development of SDN/NFV open source auto-orchestration and technique in management field.
ZTE is the very first supporter of OPEN-O open source project and also platinum membership of the project, as the second greatest code contributor in OPEN-O SUN version. Within over one year passed by, ZTE collaborated with China Mobile, promoting open source implementation and standard improvement of MANO in open source community and ETSI NFV standard organization together.
Xu Ziyang, product manager of ZTE SDN/NFV virtual product line, said ‘The cooperation development of open source represented factual standard and traditional standard will promote ONAP being mature, ZTE SDN/NFV product team persists in cooperation development of product, standard and open source, we will continue to cooperate with partners to promote ONAP being mature.’
