2019-05-07Three Aspects Boost Commercialization of 5G Network
2019 is recognized as the first year of 5G era. On April 5th, SK Telecom, KT and LG U+ from South Korea officially launched commercial services of 5G network for general consumers. Immediately thereafter, on April 16th, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) announced that it will hold its 3rd millimeter-wave spectrum auction plan and promised to invest more than $20 billion to deploy 5G in rural areas. On April 23rd, China Unicom announced the provisioning of 5G test network in 40 cities at the Shanghai Partner Conference. Although the 5G network commercial wave has gradually grown up in the globe, it is still necessary to further improve the commercial capabilities of 5G network from the aspects of industrial technology maturity, service development and business model, and efficient network operation and maintenance.

2019-04-15ZTE 5G Products Safely Construct the Future Credible Network Cornerstone
5G defines three application scenarios: eMBB (enhanced Mobile Broadband), mMTC (massive Machine Type of Communication), and uRLLC (ultra Reliable Low Latency Communications). These application scenarios put forward higher requirements for the 5G core network and security protection methods. While supporting emerging services such as AR/VR, eMBB also brings more privacy exposure risks. It is especially urgent to protect privacy. mMTC is the foundation of IoT development and requires more lightweight authentication methods to reduce unnecessary signaling interaction. When uRLLC is applied in low-latency service scenarios such as autopilot and telemedicine, data security transmission must be effectively guaranteed.

2019-03-07CUDR, Data Layer Born for Network Slice
5G is coming. Compared with 4G, 5G is a disruptive technology renovation, and it will be the foundation for the digital transformation of the whole society. In the 5G era, single physical network cannot meet SLA (Service-Level Agreement) requirements of various vertical industries. In this case, 5G network slicing technology is generated to address individualized and differentiated service demands. Operators can divide the network into multiple slices, and each slice is a complete logic network provided for different users. Slices are completely isolated, causing no impact to each other.
